Another New Barn Quilt in Adairsville, GA!

I'm proud to say there is another Barn Quilt in the Adairsville, GA area!
The Canine Cottage is showing off one of my favorite patterns, the American Star.
If you visit this part of Georgia, you can find this barn quilt about 1 mile south of Adairsville on GA US Hwy 41.
Dana and her crew run a wonderful dog grooming business there as well as a small kennel.
Both of my 'boys' stayed there when my husband & I were out of town and they also are groomed by Dana on a regular basis.  I wouldn't take them anywhere else!

It's such an honor to see barn quilts that I have painted displayed!

Happy New Year, everyone!!!

A New Place to Shop Online, FarmMade!

Thanks to Deborah Jean at Deborah Jean's Dandelion House, I've found a new online shop to sell my barn quilts!
It's called FarmMade & it's a virtual online market place for farmers, rural, suburban, city and urban folks to shop!
Set up similar to Etsy, the shop is easy to navigate & simply delightful!

Stop by the BarnQuiltStore at FarmMade & see the new barn quilts I've painted.
It's a fun place to shop!

The BarnQuiltStore is open & ready to sell my hand painted barn quilts, wooden signs, and other fun stuff!
I'm SOOO excited!!!!
There is still a little 'tweaking' left to do but I couldn't wait to share this!!
Now, I need to get busy & paint more barn quilts!
All of my barn quilts are 2'x2', perfect for displaying on your garage, shed, front porch or even in your home.
They aren't just for "barns" anymore!!!
With the holidays coming up (only a bit over 13 weeks before Christmas!!!!!), I'm hoping that some of you will choose a barn quilt as a unique gift.
I'm also selling on eBay & Etsy for now but hope that my online store takes off on it's own. In case you don't know about the history of Barn Quilts, I made up this short version to send out with my quilt squares.
For more information, and to check out the Barn Quilt Trails in your area, just GOOGLE Barn Quilts.
You'll be amazed at the history and all the places you can see these works of art.
My daughter and I are planning a trip to Iowa in November and are including a trip on the Iowa Barn Quilt Trail while we are there.
Feel free to 'splash' my link anywhere you think would be a good place to help me advertise...ok???!
My URL is www.barnquiltstore.com.
Please stop by my website & let me know what you think!

There's a New BARN QUILT in Town!

A new Barn Quilt has been hung outside the front door at Georgia North Antique Mall in Adairsville, GA.

The building that houses the Antique Mall was a chenille factory long ago.  The exterior isn't real pretty but the inside has tin ceilings, old wooden floors, and lots of character.  I donated the quilt to help spruce up the outside.  Maybe someone will see it & add it to the Georgia Quilt Trail?!!??  The town of Adairsville is on the National Historic Register and the Antique Mall sits on Dixie Highway (US Highway 41).

While I was there, I decorated a wall I rent with all things Fall!!  It may be a bit early but I'm OVER this hot weather here in GA & ready for some cooler autumn breezes to blow my way.  I was busy painting signs last weekend so I thought I'd put them out.

See the cute prim pumpkins I made??  They're made out of 2x4s!!

I got the tutorial from Today's Fabulous Finds & they were so easy!!  Stop over & check out her directions & photos!  Perfect for Fall Craft Shows!

These are pics of my booth at the mall.  I need to do more 'fluffing' but it's been sooooo hot here & the Mall doesn't have air conditioning...whew!  Just maintaining the booth is all I can do until the weather breaks.

As you can see, I sell my Barn Quilts there too!   Speaking of that, I'm in the process of setting up The BarnQuiltStore, an online shop where folks can buy my barn quilts & signs.  More about that later when I get it finished......

The next photos are of my friend's booth at the Mall.  She & her husband run the Mall for the owners.  They have several booths & do such a great job!

Stop in to the Georgia North Antique Mall if you are ever in our area!  The store is open 7 days a week, 10am-5pm, Mon-Sat and 1pm-5pm Sun.  And, if you're hungry, there's the BEST BBQ ever right down the street at Character's BBQ!
M-m-m-m-m-m!!!!

Where's your favorite place to shop for treasures???

4 New Barn Quilts!

I've been busy painting....more Barn Quilts!

Hanging them diagonally gives a completely different look!

I've decided to photograph them both ways so folks could see the versatility in each pattern.

All of these are listed in my eBay store & my Etsy shop.
I'll also be selling some in my new booth at Georgia North Antique Mall soon!
Once I get everything set up & staged, I'll share some photos!

Which Barn Quilt is your favorite????

Pink Chalk Board & My NEW Work Space!

Today I finished painting this pink chalk board...I love it!
Originally, it started as a $2.50 frame (bought at 30% off) I found at Georgia North Antique Mall in Adairsville, GA.
Before I get to that story, I want to share the wonderful shelf my husband built me in my work shop.
All my paints & supplies are right at my fingertips!
My work shop is in our garage/basement area & will never be featured in Where Women Create but it's exactly what I wanted, air conditioned, & all mine!!!!!!!!!
After cleaning the frame, I painted it Hollyhock Pink (Martha Stewart) & then a coat of clear sealer.
I had the Home Depot guys mix a jar of  Behr primer/paint sample but in Martha's colors.

I added a strip of fabric I'd bought at Hobby Lobby.
Cut it double the size I needed to cover, pressed it to fit, & hot glued it to the frame!
So easy!
I saw the idea on a blog or Pinterest, can't remember which, but thanks to whoever posted it!!
I'll be taking this to the Antique Mall next week to sell in my booth!

Patriotic Flag Barn Quilt & Others...For Sale!!

In May, I started painting Barn Quilts.
I shared a couple quilts I made for my garden shed on this post.

These 2' by 2' Barn Quilts are perfect to hang over a garage door, on a porch, on a shed or front door, or they could also be hung on an inside wall!
Many of us aren't fortunate enough to have a 'real' barn on our property to display the large 8' by 8' size Barn Quilts.
This is a way to display some country accent on our homes!
I'm selling these quilts in my booth at Georgia North Antique Mall (in Adairsville, GA) and also in my Etsy Shop & Ebay Store, Ties2ThePast.
The cost is $85 plus shipping.
I design my quilts on wood that has been painted 3 times with primer on all sides and edges.
After that, I paint the pattern with 3 to 4 coats of Behr Premium Plus Ultra (paint & primer in one) Exterior paint.
To protect the Barn Quilt from weather, I use 3 coats of a clear UV resistant sealer.
I will also paint these quilts in other colors & will have more patterns available soon.
Custom orders will take 10 days to 2 weeks to complete...all that painting takes time to dry!!
'Google' Barn Quilts for more information & to see some beautiful quilts on barns throughout the USA.
The history is fascinating & you might find a Barn Quilt Trail near you!

Georgia North Antique Mall

I stopped in my FAVORITE antique mall this am & snapped a few photos with my Iphone.
This is the same mall I worked at years ago and I currently have 2 "bins" here.
Unfortunately, the photos I took of my space didn't turn out so I'll share that with you at another time!
Isn't this iron bed just yummy!!  I LOVE IT!
I'd have bought it in a minute but have no place to put it!
The price was under $260.
And, wouldn't this picture be PERFECT hanging over that iron bed?
So sweet & the colors are so soft!
Need a place to hang/store your clothes?
Aren't the mirrors on the doors of this chiffrobe stunning?
If.I.only.had.a.place.for.it.......!!
Another nice piece for a bedroom...or even in a bathroom!
Does this metal firetruck take you back to your childhood??
The bear seems to like it!
The hand painted drawers of this chest are so pretty!
A versatile piece that could be used anywhere in the home!
And...what antique mall is complete without some Fiesta ware?
Three cute little planters!  The pig reminds me of Mary Ann & Ginger over at Bee Haven Acres blog!  They are the cutest porkers I've ever seen!!
These oil cans were all different shapes, sizes, & colors...they almost look like an art display.

That's just a sampling of what can be found at the Georgia North Antique Mall on Hwy 41 in Adairsville, GA.
They're open 7 days a week, Mon-Sat 10am-5pm & Sun 12pm-5pm.

Don't forget to look for my space, Ties2ThePast!
