NOEL Burlap Banner

This morning, I made a couple of new burlap banners.
I recently rented a small space at our local antique mall and wanted to add crafted items.

My mantle is still decorated for fall so I 'stuck' it up on my old cupboard for photos.

I cut the triangles out of burlap, then cut some more (smaller) out of Christmas fabric.
Then, I took some wooden snowflakes, painted them white, stenciled NOEL in red paint, & a bit of gingham Christmas ribbon.
I hot glued the corner of each piece of fabric to the burlap, glued on 3 small pieces of greenery & topped  with the snowflake.
I made the middle banner different with a Santa peaking out of a snow-flaked mitten!
To finish, I strung the triangles on some heavy jute rope.
It's hard to see, but I also wired a rusty star with a jingle bell on it between each triangle!

I managed to burn only 1 of my fingers...ouch!!...but had a ball creating!!

Next time I go to the antique mall, I'll take photos.
It's a great place, was once an old chenille factory, on Hwy 41 in Adairsville, GA.
Georgia North Antique Mall...love it!

  2. That is super cute! I have a small knitted Santa and every christmas I wonder what to do with him and just have him sit around in some unnoticed corner. Poor little guy. I think this year he will be glued onto a banner ;)
    Thanks for the inspiration!
